The Demystifying Grant Writing Workshop will teach artists how to write a competitive proposal, focusing on grant-writing best practices, and how and where to search for funding opportunities, and will also provide resources to access post-event.
Michelle Wallace will be leading this workshop. Michelle Wallace is a grant writer for arts and arts organizations. She has written successful MAP, NEFA, NEA, San Francisco Grants For the Arts, San Francisco Arts Commission, SVCreates, Arizona Humanities For All grants, among others. When she writes grants, Michelle draws heavily from her experience as an arts journalist.
Michelle has published short fiction, CNF and journalism in publications such as Alpinist Magazine, Vice, The Rumpus and The San Francisco Chronicle, among others. She has an MFA and has won several grants and fellowships for her creative writing.

This event is the third session in our How To Art series where we will host panels, workshops, performances, and networking sessions for emerging and established artists in San Jose and the greater Santa Clara County. genARTS aims to create a space where artists can immediately put theory into practice and receive personalized guidance from experts in the field. This is a free event.
