Help Hayward Celebrate Earth Day 2024!
The Annual Citywide Clean-Up is a litter pick-up event hosted at Weekes Park. Volunteers come together to collect litter and abandoned debris in various neighborhoods throughout the City. The effort demonstrates that Hayward cares about the community and that littering is not accepted.
The Clean-Up is followed by an Earth Day themed Community Fair! Including lunch for all Clean-Up volunteers, eco-friendly giveaways, music, and activities. The Community Fair will feature booths from:
- The Hayward Public Library – showcasing their seed library
- StopWaste – sharing composting resources
- Ava Community Energy – answering questions about cleaner energy
- Waste Management – highlighting best recycling practices
- Rising Sun Center for Opportunity – promoting their free energy saving resources
- Bay Area Air Quality Management District – highlighting best clean air practices
- Sustain East Bay (from Cal State East Bay) – hosting games to show waste decomposition and proper waste sorting
- Next Generation Nations (from Mt. Eden HS) – promoting how high school students can take action
