SummerJazz welcomes Ann Arbor-based Lunar Octet. Join us for an evening of highly original and eclectic music beside the vines!
The award-winning Lunar Octet plays jazz, Cuban and Puerto Rican salsa, rock, African high-life music, and Brazilian sambas, to forge a vital new sound enriched by these traditions. Almost all of the band’s music is original compositions involving rich arrangements and strong focus on soloists’ improvisations, and all of the band members contribute to the compositional process. The band’s music is exciting, dynamic, and powerful, including fiery Latin grooves, driving funk rhythms, swinging bop tunes, and romantic ballads.
Lunar Octet has released four albums, including “Highway Fun” on the Ann Arbor-based Schoolkids Records, in addition to “Lunar Glee Club”, “Moonburn”, and “Live at the Ark.”

We’ll pour tastes of our wines, and we invite you to bring a picnic. Wine will also be available for purchase by the bottle.
The concert begins at 6pm. We’re open from 5:00 to 8:00. Picnic tables are not available; feel free to bring a blanket to spread on the ground, or beach chairs. Please consider carpooling or bicycling, as parking is very limited.
